Authority and responsibility must be delegated throughout a firm to promote the efficiencies of an organizational structure. Without delegation the chief executive, or president, would be the only management member of an enterprise. There would be only one department, and there would be no organization structure. Delegation of authority is necessary wherever a manager mu’st rely on another to help accomplish an: objective.
